The Rotary Club of Hoshiarpur Mid Town (26559), District 3070, with the Plano Metro Rotary Club of Plano, Texas, restored the sight of Raj Kumar, a 50-year-old man from Amritsar, Punjab, under the project Mission Gift of Sight.
The transplant was performed by Dr. Shakeen Singh of Dr. Shakeen’s Eye & Dental Hospital, Court Road, Amritsar, under the MOU signed between the Rotary clubs and the hospital. The operation, the cornea and the medicines were all free of cost.
The project is supervised by Rtn. Jatinder Singh of the Rotary Club of Amritsar Aastha. This was the 447th corneal transplant under Mission Gift of Sight, performed on 5 September 2024.
